New Orphanage Building 1998

I adopted my own little one in July 1998 from the Lin Chuan Welfare Institute and the orphanage director gave me some pictures of the outside of the new orphanage (see below), which is apparently complete and in use.  I think he said that they had moved into it in May.  I was introduced to a "foster mom" when I was handed my baby at the Lake View Hotel in Nanchang on July 21st, so I don't know how much time, if any, my daughter spent in this orphanage.  She was in great shape though and is a happy, well adjusted and beautiful child.  The orphanage director seemed very nice and made a point to hold the baby and rub his beard stubble on her face a few days later.  This caused her to laugh in delight and the whole way that he did it led me to believe that he had played with her before (though this was perhaps just on the journey to Nanchang).  (NN, a. 7/98)
