A December 1996 visit to Yichun

(December 1996) "I first met my wonderful daughter in the hallway of the
Qing Shan Hu hotel, Nanchang. The next day we travelled to Yichun for
proceedings before the Notary.  Yichun is a city of 200,000 people almost five hours from Nanchang by bus. Despite its size, Yichun appears to receive few foreign visitors. The local residents were very curious about us as we moved around the city, and often gathered to get a good look at us. Our coordinator explained that few of them had ever seen a Westerner before!  
"Here are some of the beautiful children of Yichun as they gathered around our bus.

While in Yichun we shopped in a department store, and we also saw farms on the outskirts of the city.

"We were not able to visit the orphanage. I would have liked to visit to be
able to personally thank the orphanage staff for taking such excellent
care of my daughter. It was apparent from the day we met that she was
accustomed to receiving kindness and love."
