Fuzhou Social Welfare Institute

It now seems that the name has been changed back to Fuzhou Social Welfare Institute.

Apparently the name of the city of Fuzhou (in Jiangxi province) has been changed to Linchuan City so the name of the orphanage was also changed sometime during 1997.  Several families have confirmed that it is the same orphanage director and he explained the name change to them.  They are hoping to build a new orphanage building sometime during 1998.  Recently families have not been allowed to visit the orphanage although there was one family that did go to Linchuan.  But during 1994 there were families that visited and they were able to take photos and video.   By most reports it appears that almost all the children under the age of three are in foster care.  The children adopted have overall been healthy and have appeared well cared for.  For some stories of visits and many photos please see Fuzhou.
