Initially it appeared that children from this orphanage were from Jingdezhen (which also has an orphanage). My understanding of this, after e-mail conversations with a Nanchang resident, is as follows: "The reason is that Leping is a county-level city and is managed by Jingdezhen. Before 1997 Leping didn't have the experience to present the baby's materials directly for international adoption. So they had to submit the papers via Jingdezhen. From 1997 on, Leping has direct relations with international adoption. All children from Leping orphanage will be now processed directly from Leping, not from Jingdezhen."
There is now an e-mail group specifically for those who have adopted from Leping and those who are going to adopt from Leping (have referrals). You can sign up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/leping-ones. Once you are a member of this group there are additional photos of the orphanage you can view from the Yahoo Leping page by clicking on "files".
