Suichuan

Suichuan is in the southwest part of the province. A few families received a referral from this orphanage in September 1999. I hadn't heard of anyone adopting from this orphanage prior to then but this may have been when this orphanage got started doing international adoptions because I have heard from a few families each year since then. Most recently, in June of 2004, thirteen families in Ireland received referrals from this orphanage. If you or anyone you know has adopted from this orphanage I'd love to hear from you.

2006-03 - Ni Hao! We were blessed with our beautiful little girl from Suichuan County Children's Welfare Institute, which I am assuming is the same orphanage on the website in May of 2003. She was nine months old and weighed almost thirteen pounds when we brought her home. She was well taken care of and we could tell by the staff who traveled with the babies to the Hotel in Nanchang that she was a VERY WELL-LOVED BABY! There is an incredible bond between us that happened the moment they placed her in my arms, I am not kidding. She did not cry, she did not appear scared. My first words spoken to her were "Wo Ai Ni." I promise you, the child grinned at me!!! She, her Baba and I have been inseparable ever since. This was the most awesome, incredible, greatest event of our lives and she herself is nothing short of amazing to us. She is my heart and soul. It is so good to see this website and read about other families who have been blessed with these babies! God Bless! (KF)

2005-02 - There were 10 families from across Canada who adopted from Suichuan in November 2004. All the children were healthy and well taken care of. To date all the babies are doing wonderfully and have bonded and adjusted with little or no problems into their new families and homes.(LW)

2004-10 - In July 2004 my husband my two sons and I traveled to Nanchang to adopt our fantastic daughter who is from the Suichuan orphanage. We had a most amazing experience and to bring home such a child is a dream come true. She was tiny weighing just 11 lbs at 12 months . Now, three months later, she weighs about 14 lbs and is almost walking. She is an extremely bright, feisty, happy and talkative child. She hasn't left my side for three months and her security in her new found situation is a joy to all. I could talk for ever about her and the effect she has on all who meet her. (DW)
